How much are you being paid to go to school? Whatever happened to humbling yourself and admitting you’re not the shit and that you need a real-world glimpse? I don’t know about you but as a design student I’d jump on a company like Wieden+Kennedy in a heartbeat. The experience itself would probably overshadow the experience from a classroom. This isn’t me being a brat. Demanding money from something that others would do for free is being a brat.
I am in complete agreeance, unpaid internships are pretty insulting. To me, offering an unpaid internship is saying ‘We are so awesome we just might consider letting you do work for us for free.” If you are considering doing an unpaid internship, stop right now. Take that time you were going to freely give to someone else, and use it to challenge yourself. Thanks Marco.
